2.1 Selecting Business Unit

 

A Business Unit is a specific combination of Company and Department. These are specific dimensions set up by your onePLan administrator to reflect the reporting and administration structure.

Before you start forecasting, you need to select the appropriate combinations.

 

Company Selection  From the menu or toolbar, under Selections Company                                                                                

 

Double click on Company.                                            

 In the selection box that appears, click on the                                         

 next to the member,to expand the tree                         

(hierarchy).

 

Expand further levels until you see the

Company you require, and click on its name

to select.

Select a child member from the selection box

and perform the following steps:

Click Save  in the lower left hand corner of

your dialogue box.

(This will prompt another window for you to set your default member selection)

Click  

 

Confirm your selection by clicking    

And Ok

 

Finally Select the green check  in the lower right hand corner.

Department Selection

From the menu or toolbar, under Selections   

Department

 

Double Click on Department

 

In the selection box that appears, click on the 

next to  Total Branch, to expand the tree (hierarchy).

Expand further levels until you see the Company you require, and click on its name to select. 

Select a child member from the selection box and perform the following steps:

Click Savein the lower left hand corner of your dialogue box.  

This will promptt another window for you to set your default member selection)

 

Click  

 

Confirm your selection by clicking    

And Ok

 

Finally Select the green check  in the lower right hand corner.

 

 

 

 

Report Level Selection

          

From the menu or toolbar, under Selections 

Report Level

Double Click on Report Level.

In the selection box that appears, click on the report rollup labelled 

Click Savein the lower left hand corner of your dialogue box.  

(This will prompt anoter window for you to set your default member selection)

 

Click  

 

Confirm your selection by clicking    

And Ok

 

Finally Select the green check  in the lower right hand corner.

 

 

Currency Selection

From the menu or toolbar, under Selections  Currency 

 

Double click on Currency 

In the selection box that appears, click on the currency labelled

Click Savein the lower left hand corner of your dialogue box.  

(This will prompt anoter window for you to set your default member selection)

 

 

Click  

 

Confirm your selection by clicking    

And Ok

 

Finally Select the green check  in the lower right hand corner.

 

 

 

Note

Members at the lowest level in the hierarchy are called detailed members.  These will allow you to enter and change forecasts. 

Other members, higher up the hierarchy, are termed aggregate members.  If you select these members, you will not be able to enter or change data, but you will see the results for that level in the company structure.
