Managing and Viewing Reports

The Administration by Report tool included with proCube Publisher makes it easy to manage and track the distribution of any number of reports. Once reports are launched, use Queue to monitor the pending reports and delete them if desired.

To open Administration by Report:

  1. Open the proCube Publisher Configuration tool by selecting Start, Programs, proCube Publisher Configuration.

  2. From any page in the configuration tool, click Administer on the left-hand side to open a report summary.

This report summary page lists all reports created in Publisher. For each report, the following is listed:

  • User: Indicates the user security context specified for a report.

  • Output: Specifies the output format for a report (i.e., sent as an e-mail, posted on a server).

  • Output Destination: If a report was sent as an e-mail, then the table lists every e-mail address to which the reports were sent. If the report was posted on a server, then the table lists the Output Destination server address.

  • Notification: Lists the e-mail addresses of all people who received notifications about each report.

Managing reports

Report name, user name, and output destination titles are underlined, indicating that they are hyperlinked to additional information. By clicking on each hyperlink, you can manage reports by report name, user security context, and notification.

By report name

  1. Click on Report Name to bring up the Member Selection dialog for that report, which allows you to edit member selections for each dimension in the report:

  1. You can proceed through the Context and Output summary page as well, where you can edit output and recipient selections for each output set, as well as add additional output sets. (This is the same process you go through when you Edit existing reports in Publisher.)

By user

  1. Click User, which lists all of the reports generated under various security contexts, or database user names (refer to Administration by Report to view reports sorted by user).

  1. Click individual report names to modify report configurations, as well as view reports according to their Output Destination.

By output destination

  1. Click on Output Destination, which allows you to view reports according to the people who received them (by E-mail address). If, for example, Elissa Miller (emiller@acmetrading.com) received six different reports, then you would see six different reports listed by her name. From this report, you can select each report name and modify its configuration.

  1. If you delete markups and reports using the Delete button (located on the left-hand side of the dialog), the Administration by Report data is updated instantly.

Viewing pending reports

Once your reports are launched, they will be run and published per the settings you have chosen. When multiple reports are launched, e.g., by different users at different offices, they go into the queue as pending reports. Click Queue to view these reports. Once a report is run, it gets published and disappears from the queue. Reports in the queue are given a status of pending, and can be stopped from publication by deleting them.

To access pending reports:

  1. Publish multiple reports as described in Launching a Report.

  2. Click Queue to open a list of pending reports. As these reports are run, they will disappear from the queue.

  1. Select one or more reports with a status of "Pending".

  2. Click Delete to remove that report from the queue and cancel its publication.
