Creating the Load Files

The i-Performance Planning Application requires a select set of information from key data sources to provide the data to drive the Planning application.  The following types of information are needed:

  • General Ledger

  • Employee / Full Time Equivalent FTE

  • Payroll

  • Timekeeper Rates

  • Inventory (WIP, AR, Months of Inventory)

  • Productivity (Hours, Realization, Worked Value, Billed Value)

  • Firm/Organization Details (Offices, Departments)

This information must be extracted from the source systems and saved to CSV text files for loading into the i-Performance Planning application.

Once the load files are generated, the i-Performance Planning Data Integration Utility is used to load these files into the Data Integration Layer.  The utility will perform simple validation on the import files, load the data into the Data Integration Layer, and populate the Planning cubes.

Load Files

The following files are necessary to populate the Planning application for use.  The files map one-to-one with the corresponding load table, and are to be constructed in accordance with the definitions contained within this document.  

There are two types of files; one that drives the loading of dimensional data (organizational structure) and another that drives the loading of fact data (actual data).  Typically, fact data driven files are referred to as ”Data” files (root of the filename ends in ”_Data”) and all other files drive loading of dimensional data.  

The recommended file name should be the name of the Load File followed by .csv (e.g., Account.csv).  Recommended file names are found within the parentheses of each load file.
