Security Export/Import Feature
Security Export and Import features are available in a secure database to users with Administrative privileges. With this function, an Administrator may export the User/User Group security information; the Metadata Dimension, Metadata Cube, and Metadata Slice information; and the Fact Data security information.
Security Export/Import functions are grayed out in a database that has no defined security.
To export security:
From the Data ribbon's Export Group, click Security to open the Export Security dialog.
Figure 1. Export Security Dialog
In the File Name field, select a <<destination>> and <<filename>> for the export security file. (Export/Import Security files have the extension .sec.)
The Cubes in the database are listed on the left and the Dimensions are listed on the right in their respective list boxes.
Selecting a Cube checks off the Cube’s dimensionality automatically if the Mark Dimension check box is left checked (default). You have the option to individually select dimensions from the list.
You may opt to export the user and User Group information by checking that check box as well.
In the Key Password/Verify field, enter a minimum 8-character <<password>>. The password is saved with the file. Note that during imports, the user must provide this password in order to successfully import a .sec file.
Importing Security Features
To import a .sec file:
From the Data ribbon's Import Group, click Security to open the Import Security dialog.

In the File Name field, designate a destination and filename for the import security file.
In the Key Password/Verify field, enter the minimum 8-character password (that was created during export) in order to successfully import the .sec file.
If any errors occurred during import, a security Error.log is generated in the same directory as the *.sec you are trying to import. Types of errors include:
User and User Group Security: There may be duplicate users or Groups trying to be added in.
Dimension Meta Security: 1) User or User Group may not already exist in the User and User Group list, or 2) the dimension does not exist in the proCube database.
Cube Meta Security: 1) The User or User Group may not already exist in the User and User Group list, or 2) the Cube does not exist in the proCube database.
Cube Fact Security: The Cube may not exist in the proCube database.
