FTE Data

Used as the core source for loading the FTE fact table and the Xchange FTE cube in Planning.  This file contains the current population of fee earners and administrative staff for loading of the budget.

Some important points to remember include:

  • FTE means Full Time Equivalent (1, .8, .5, etc.) for all employees (timekeepers and admin)
  • The FTE value that is loaded is used as the baseline FTE, which serves to drive compensation FTE for all employee and is used to drive the productivity FTE for all timekeepers based on their title.
  • Productivity FTE is initially set the same as the FTE, but for timekeepers only. You can override it to identify people who perform administrative work.

In the case of a full-time timekeeper who spends the majority of their time on administrative duties but does bill some, you can override the productivity FTE from the original value. The Compensation FTE drives the salary calculation and would be a 1.0 for an administration person; the Production FTE drives the revenue calculation and could be .10 or a figure less than 1.0.
